This lamp is a far relative of a lamp concept I came up with in a 2 hour design and build assignment in a model making class. It is constructed from laminated ply wood, and It has a welded steel base, that supports the cantilever plywood neck. The steel and plywood accentuate a contrast in both material and form, combining aspects of both industrial and organic forms to lighten the room. It is illuminated by a led strip that is switched on through motion detection. It makes a great desk or reading lamp, as it has a large surface glow with a small footprint.
