Shadow and Light.
This lamp is constructed from 1/4 inch acrylic sandwiched by wood veneer, which was laser cut and fixed to two 1/2 inch machined acrylic rings. This was a junior level studio project that was sponsored by Color Cord Company, which makes variable length light bulb cords, along with various other lighting products. The contrast in materials allows for intriguing shadows and an interesting effect with each individual slat. With the 15’ of Color Cord, this table lamp can easily become a hanging fixture by anchoring the cord to the ceiling.
